Precious Memories

When I woke Raymond at four this morning to tell him Betty had died, his tears were followed with the song, "Precious Memories!"

Stewarts Funeral Home in Scottsburg will be in charge of the funeral. No information is available at this time.

I hope you will send a memory that can be shared. Our blessings have been many.

Thank you for your prayers.

  1. I am so sorry! I write this through tears. I am so glad she felt like coming to church last Sunday and I was able to hug her one more time. She was a great friend, 4-H leader to me, we formed an Extension Homemakers group in our Lexington area called Country Homemakers together, She tried to teach me to make quilts, I worked with her while she was a cook at Lexington Elementary and of course we worked at church together. We always had a good time being together and laughing. I love you Betty. Jeannie Noe Carlisle

  2. We are truly sorry to lose a wonderful cousin and friend. Betty was like a sister to me and my family. We spent every Sunday together at our grandparents--Grandma Prather's--so we grew up knowing our cousins. We ate together--some wonderful cooks--sang together and played games together. We played croquet and softball. Those are memories that will never be taken away from us. We love all of you and will always keep Betty in our hearts! I was going to get a quilting lesson for a heart wall hanging but never did get there. That is my loss. Love and prayers to all of you!

  3. Sandy remember the trip to Rising Sun and our little stop along the road with the white car behind us? :) What a great day that turned out to be even with the fog and that little side stop.

Remember you driving to Paducah to "rescue" the rest of the trip when I had to return to Scottsburg with a couple nights still left on the reservation and lots more quilts to see.

I posted a tribute to Betty on my blog this afternoon. (sunroomquilts.com) which I believe also flows to Facebook.

I'll keep thinking of tibits that might be of interest.

I hope you all can rest tonight. I have sausage balls and breakfast casserole to bring over on Monday. If you need me to pick up anything else just let me know. If you are up and want the delivery earlier than I get there give me a call. I'll run it over. I don't want to wake you all up by delivering it too early.
